I have just come across your blog and am wondering to which state Cedar Falls is in… Iowa?
Yes. The WAVES trained at Iowa State Teacher’s College (now Northern Iowa University). It was the initial boot camp and in early 1943 it was transformed into a yeoman’s training facility (after the Hunter College Boot Camp opened). They have a great archive of WAVES material there.
